The Foundation for Maine’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children
The Foundation for Maine's Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children promotes a broad spectrum of educational opportunities for Maine's Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and their families.
The Foundation provides financial support to children and programs, which support the following initiatives for Maine's deaf and hard of hearing children and their families:
The Foundation board traditionally meets in October, January, March, May, and twice in June to review application requests and develop fundraising plans.
Applications for funding should be sent to the Foundation at least two weeks prior to each meeting. They should be sufficiently complete to enable the Foundation to weigh the merits of the request in comparison to other requests the Foundation receives. In addition, the Foundation does not fund personal aid technology and first time applicants will be given consideration over repeat applicants.

The Foundation's major annual fundraiser is the Mackworth Island Show & Shine, which is held on Mackworth Island, Falmouth Maine the last Sunday of July. This car show is sponsored by the Down East Region Porsche Club of America and the Falmouth Rotary Club. Donations are tax deductible and we encourage and appreciate any and all business donations, corporate sponsorships, individual donations and in-kind donations.
