It is with pleasure that the Board of Directors of Maine Educational Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing/Governor Baxter School for the Deaf announces the hiring of Owen J. Logue, Ed. D. as the new Executive Director.
With a unanimous vote at their May meeting, the Board established a starting date of May 31, 2017, which allows for an overlap period with our current Executive Director, David Sherry.  Dr. Logue, an individual who has been deaf from birth, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Maine, his graduate degree and CAS from the University of Maine Orono and a doctorate of education from Vanderbilt University.  Currently employed as a Director of Special Services in Deer Isle-Stonington, Dr. Logue began his career as a Teacher of the Deaf at Bangor High School and has since been employed at the collegiate level as well as serving as Director of the Northampton School Program at Clarke School for Hearing and Speech.
